Overview: Today is the day for the students to show that they "know their stuff." They will be evaluated by their peers on how well they know their topic; whether or not they confidently present and answer questions about their chemical reaction. The teacher will be a member of one evaluation group to ensure knowing what each presenter has to say.

Students in Group A: Project Presentations set up around the classroom, presented simultaneously, to 6 Peer Evaluators.
Each student will have approximately 10 minutes to present information and answer questions about their topic to his/her peer evaluators.

Students in Group B: Peer Evaluators (split into two groups) move to around the room to each set-up and grade the students in Group A using the Peer Evaluation form. Each student in this group provides feedback and questions about the projects presented.

Splitting the Peer Evaluators into two groups, and having them only evaluate 6 presentations will allow more flexibility with time.

If there is extra time during this block, the students can "vote" on their favorite project and perhaps the class can urge an "encore" presentation.

At the end of Science Fair Day 1, presenters should turn in their final copy of written work and their poster. Peer evaluators turn in their Peer Evaluations Form.

Assessment: I will grade the poster/display and the paper using the rubric provided (85% of Final Grade) I will grade the presentations guided by the Peer Evaluation Forms. In other words, the peer evaluators will grade the presentations. This part of the final project is 15% of the final grade.
